Bukola Saraki, former Senate President, has floored the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), reclaiming his Ikoyi properties temporary forfeited to the federal government.
A federal high court sitting in Lagos on Thursday rejected the permanent forfeiture application of the EFCC for the landed properties located at 17 and 17A, MacDonald road, Ikoyi, Lagos state.
In its judgment, the Court declared that the agency woefully failed to produce any evidence to support its claims that the properties were paid for with funds sourced from Kwara State government house.
The Court further held that the evidence before it showed the purchase of properties was legal and as such cannot be said to be done with the proceeds of crime.
It, thereafter, dismissed the application while vacating the interim forfeiture order.
