Religious Blacklist: FG hails U.S over new decision on Nigeria

The federal government has expressed pleasure over the delisting of Nigeria from the list of countries with religious freedom concerns.

The United States had last year listed Nigeria as one of the countries where religious freedom is trampled upon.

But in its latest list released on Wednesday, the most populous country in Africa was removed while new countries made the list.

Hailing the foreign country, Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, in a statement released from Paris, France, on Thursday, described the development as fair and just.

”We will continue to ensure that every Nigerian has the freedom to practice his or her own chosen religion or belief without hindrance,” Mr Mohammed assured.
