The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Adamu Mohammed, has been ordered to provide security to the new faction of the Edo State House of Assembly.
The order was issued by Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Justice Minister.
Mr Malami while issuing the order said it was necessary to forestall the breakdown of law and order.
The new faction which elected its speaker yesterday after impeaching the speaker of another faction loyal to Godwin Obaseki, the state governor, visited the state Commissioner of Police yesterday and secured his support.
