Presidential jet sighted in Katsina for Buhari’s aide wedding

One of the aircraft in the Nigerian presidential fleet has been used for the wedding of Bashir Ahmad, the aide of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr Ahmad, the president’s personal assistant on new media, tied the knot yesterday in Katsina State.

The ceremony, TODAY POLITICS learnt had the presence of top government officials including the minister of communications, Isa Pantami.

Mr Buhari did not attend the wedding and was at the Presidential Villa Abuja. He met with the re-elected governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, who came on a thank you visit.

Mr Pantami and his entourage flew a private jet to graced the occasion.

The presidential jet was sighted at the Umaru Musa Yaradua airport with the groom standing with his cronies and taking photographs after the arrival in the state.

Although no know law in the constitution restricts aides and family members of the president from using the presidential jets, it is a criminal offence to use the seal of the president which is emboldened on the aircrafts.

Mr Buhari, earlier this year, was criticised for allowing his daughter, Hanan, to fly one of the presidential jets for her private study.
