Police withdraw suit against #EndSARS judicial panels

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has began the process of withdrawing its earlier legal action seeking to declare as illegal judicial panels probing alleged police brutality.

The force reportedly instituted the suit which hearing has been fixed for December 18th, asking a federal high court in Abuja to disband the panels set up by various state governments.

But in a notice of discontinuance filed this morning through a lawyer, Festus Ibude, the force notified of its intention to withdraw the suit.

“Take notice that the plaintiff herein intends to and doth hereby wholly withdraws its suit against all the defendants,” Mr Ibude said.

This is coming hours after police boss, Mohammed Adamu, denied knowledge of the legal action and vowed to sanction those found culpable.
