Protesters under the #OccupyLekkiTollGate have been arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Saturday morning.
They demonstrators had gathered at the Lekki tollgate to register their displeasure over the decision to reopen the premises shut down after dozens were allegedly massacred last year October 20.
Despite warnings not to proceed with their planned action, the defiant protesters came together to demonstrate but had the police to contain with. Dozens of the demonstrators have been arrested and whisked away.
The location was also supposed to serve as protest venue to another rival youth group with the hashtag #DefendLagos however the promoters have suspended the move, promising to return if their demand which is to ensure no protest hold in the state is not met.
