Oshiomhole taught Obaseki how to misbehave – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, former Senator at the 8th Senate says Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State governor learnt all his misbehaviour from his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, erstwhile national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Mr Sani made the above remark in a Saturday parable obviously referring to the latest political development in Edo State.

“It was the carpenter who taught the apprentice how to remove roof and Ceiling during raining season,” the former lawmaker said in a tweet.

The political battle between Messrs Obaseki and Oshiomhole began when the duo sought to politically control the state legislature.

The recent of such chaos trouble began after the deputy speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Yekini Idiaye, was impeached on Thursday. The ousted lawmaker’s ordeal came a day after he led three of his colleagues to pledge their loyalty to Osagie Ize-Iyamu, gubernatorial candidate of the APC.

Mr Idiaye who refused to react to his impeachment, went ahead and organized some of his colleagues whose seats at the assembly were declared vacant over failure to show up for swearing in on the day the assembly was constituted.

The speaker, Frank Okiye, who presided over the impeachment on Thursday said the removed lawmaker was planning to violently takeover the assembly complex. Barely a day after the allegation, police officers on the orders of the federal government took over the assembly complex to forestall breakdown of law and order.

Moments later, the aggrieved lawmaker and his colleagues sat at an undisclosed location and sworn in other lawmakers whose seats where declared vacant. They immediately impeached Mr Okiye who kept vigil at the assembly complex while the roofs of the legislative building, said to be under renovations, were removed.

The impeached speaker heads a faction loyal to the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after being disqualified from using the APC platform.
