Adams Oshiomhole, erstwhile national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) says he will not give up despite his party loosing the governorship election last weekend.
Mr Oshiomhole stated when he appeared in a recent video clip by Gee Africa TV sweating in a gym background. This is his first public appearance since his candidate for the election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, lost to the incumbent.
The predecessor of the incumbent and governor-elect of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, who wanted his successor out of power, said against the wish of those who wanted him down, he is up and running.
He said during the campaigns and election day, he saw those who are older than him but have not given up on the electoral process
“You know in life, you work hard and leave God for the outcome, you do your best and trust God to bless your effort,” Oshiomhole, a former governor of the state said.
“I feel good, I feel healthy thank God, I feel strong thank God. In life you win some and you lose some but life goes on. I want to thank everybody, I am sure a lot of people think comrade is down but I am not down. When God says you are not down, you are not down and I am not down.
“I thank Edo people for all they did over the past two, three, four, six weeks, people under the rain under the sun, young ladies carrying babies on their back, I saw elderly women struggling to see my small face, and on election day I was moved to tears when I saw elderly women of 70 to 75 sitting down because the card readers were not working and they were not frustrated with that, they struck me with that. If at their age, they didn’t give up, why should I give up?” Oshiomhole queried while urging Nigerians to have faith in their country.
Meanwhile, Mr Obaseki recently described the former governor and Bola Tinubu, national leader of the APC as threats to democracy who should have their wings clipped.
Mr Tinubu was among those opposed to his re-election of the Edo helmsman, describing him as a dictator who does not deserve a ballot paper.
