Orji Kalu, Senator representing Abia North at the 9th Senate, has been released from Kuje correctional center in Abuja.
The former governor was imprisoned for allegedly siphoning public funds while he was at the helm of affairs in Abia State.
Following an order of the Federal High Court in Lagos State yesterday, the 12-year jail term he was earlier sentenced to has been aborted with his release Wednesday evening.
