Ondo residents elect new gov today

Residents of Ondo State will today decide who should pilot the affairs of the state in the next four years.

This is after months of campaigns by seventeen political parties participating in the exercise. Three political parties are expected to dramatise their strength.

With the incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and Eyitayo Jegede, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are all aiming to oust him.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), about 1,478,460 residents have collected their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and are expected to elect who governs the state.
