Rochas Okorocha, lawmaker representing Imo West at the Nigerian Senate, has joined the 2023 presidential race.
Mr Okorocha declared interest in the top position in a letter addressed to the red chamber and read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan during plenary on Wednesday.
The former Imo governor said he will address a world press conference on Monday 31st January 2022 to officially declare his ambition to contest the presidency.
He joins the growing list of other All Progressive Congress (APC) aspirants jostling to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in office.
