Okorocha speaks from experience, says EFCC cells are of int’l standards

Senator Rochas Okorocha says detention facilities at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters are of international standards.

The former governor who spent two days of this week with the anti-graft agency shared his experience through his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo, Daily Nigerian reported.

The lawmaker, picked up to answer to a petition against him by the Imo State government, said he used the opportunity to inspect the facilities where suspects are kept.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain who said staffers at the EFCC were professional while discharging their duties, demanded for better welfare packages to keep them motivated.

“Sharing my experience at the EFCC with my team. I had the opportunity to inspect the facilities there. I dare say they are of international standard, even the cell,” Mr Okorocha said. “I also commend the staff for their professionalism in the discharge of their duties.”

“However there is the need to ensure that the welfare of the staff is improved so that they don’t look outside,” he added.
