Frank Okiye, the factional speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly has reacted to his impeachment.
Mr Okiye was impeached today by aggrieved lawmakers loyal to the All Progressive Congress APC and its gubernatorial candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
The faction which had 17 legislators during the gathering at an undisclosed location, elected replacement in the person of Victor Edoror.
This was not until 12 members of the faction took oath of office an were sworn in.
Reacting to the development, Okiye said his purported impeachment is not an issue.
“It is a non-issue and I do not want to respond to such issues,” the embattled lawmaker told Punch Newspapers.
