Ogun, Imo assemblies impeach deputy speaker, majority leader

The Ogun State House of Assembly has impeached its deputy speaker, Dare Kadiri.

Mr Kadiri represents Ijebu North State Constituency 2 and was removed during plenary on Thursday over alleged gross misconduct.

About 22 lawmakers reportedly endorsed his removal last week.

Similarly, the Majority leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, Uche Ogbuagu.

Mr Ogbuagu who represents Ikeduru state constituency was impeached by a majority vote during Thursday plenary although TODAY POLITICS could not ascertain reason for his removal as at press time.

He recently joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
