Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has arrived at the federal high court in Abuja for the resumption of his trial.
Mr Kanu was whisked in by State Security Service (SSS) agents who barred newsmen from capturing the moment.
Supporters of the seccessionist intercepted and extradited from Kenya were arrested by police officers when they appeared at the court premises chanting solidarity songs in support of Mr Kanu who is been tried on treasonable felony charges.
Before their arrest, TODAY POLITICS sighted most of them came with local musical instruments singing and dancing outside the court premises.
Before the legal counsel of the defendant were allowed into the court room they engaged in a shouting match with operatives of the self-styled Department of State Services (DSS).
Some Igbo leaders led by a former governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife tried severally before being allowed into the court room.
Some lawyers and journalists who were also barred from entering the court premises are protesting against the alleged order from above.
Heavy security presence was witnessed around the premises Sunday evening. The trial slated for 9:00am is yet to begin as at press time.
