Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections exceed 38,000

With the announcement of 543 fresh cases of Coronavirus infections, Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases has exceeded 38,000.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) which made public the latest daily figure known Wednesday night said while 8 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours, 138 patients recovered from the deadly virus.

The new figure brings the total number of confirmed cases to 38,344 out of which 15,815 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 813 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 543 new cases are reported from 15 states- Lagos (180), FCT(86), Kaduna (56), Edo (47), Ondo (37), Kwara (35), Ogun (19), Rivers (19), Kano (17), Ebonyi (16) Enugu (16), Delta (7), Bayelsa (4), Bauchi (3) and Abia (1).
