Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections exceed 33,000

With 595 new confirmed cases by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), yesterday, the country’s Coronavirus disease cases have exceeded 33,000.

The new confirmed cases were identified in 20 states:- Lagos (156), Oyo (141), FCT (99), Edo (47), Kaduna (27), Ondo (22), Rivers (20), Osun (17), Imo (13), Plateau (10), Nasarawa (8), Anambra (8), Kano (5), Benue (5), Borno (5), Ogun (4), Taraba (3), Gombe (3), Kebbi (1) and Cross River (1).

This brings the total number of cases to 33,153 out of which 13,671 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 744 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Also, according to the latest statistics released by the disease agency Monday night, in the last 24 hours, 244 patients recovered from the deadly virus while 4 deaths were recorded nationwide.
