Nigerians demand suspension of Buhari’s Twitter handle

In reaction to the threat he issued against those whom he said want his administration to fail, Nigerians are demanding the suspension of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Twitter handle.

Mr Buhari had on Tuesday vowed to deploy in his civil war experience in dealing with growing insecurity across the nation.

He made the threat after meeting with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War,” Buhari tweeted. “Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”

Angered by his remarks which many described as genocidal, Nigerians called on the owner of the micro-blogging site, Jack Dorsey, to suspend the account of their president like he did to that of former president of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
