Nigeria records 587 fresh COVID-19 infections

Fresh 587 cases of Coronavirus disease has been confirmed in the country and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

In its latest data released Wednesday night, 344 patients recovered from the deadly virus while 14 deaths occurred in the country last 24 hours.

The new confirmed figure brings the total number of cases to 17735 out of which 5967 cases have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 469 recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 587 new cases are reported from 18 states- Lagos (155), Edo (75), FCT (67), Rivers (65), Oyo (56), Delta (50), Bayelsa (25), Plateau (18), Kaduna (18), Enugu (17), Borno (12), Ogun (12), Ondo (7), Kwara (4), Kano (2), Gombe (2), Sokoto (1) and Kebbi (1).

Currently, 103,799 samples have been tested while 11,299 are active cases nationwide so far.
