Nigeria confirms 290 fresh COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC has announced the confirmation of 290 fresh cases of Coronavirus disease infections in the country.

In its latest daily data published on Monday night, the disease agency said 160 patients recovered from the pandemic disease while 5 fatalities were recorded nationwide in the past 24 hours.

The new figure brings the total number of confirmed cases to 46,867 out of which 33,346 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 950 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 290 new cases are reported from 16 states- Lagos (82), Plateau (82), Oyo (19), FCT (18), Edo (16), Kaduna (15), Enugu (9), Ogun (9), Kano (8), Kwara (8), Cross River (5), Ondo (5), Rivers (5), Ekiti (4), Imo (3) and Borno (2).
