Naira Marley backtracks, says armed robbers leading #EndSARS campaign

Azeez Fashola, popular Nigerian singer, says armed robbers are those leading campaigns to end the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS).

Mr Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, stated this today while partaking in an Instagram live session with the Nigerian police. This came hours after he cancelled his planned protest seeking the dissolution of FSARS.

“We need to reform SARS. Let’s be reasonable, are you an armed robber?” the singer queried.

“Why will you say they should end SARS. If you end SARS, it means they should end EFCC and other agencies. All we have to do is get them off the road.

“Nobody threatened me, I know my rights. What stopped me was thinking of the safety of everybody and I saw that the police issued a statement,” he added.

Meanwhile, presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, also made similar claim, saying internet fraudsters were behind the call for the disbandment of the security outfit.
