The Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) has arrested Nsima Ekere, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The anti-graft agency arrested Mr Ekere Wednesday evening, over diversion of funds to the tune of N47 billion, Channels TV reports.

He is said to have diverted the funds using registered contractors of the NDDC.

The broadcast station said Wilson Uwujaren, spokesperson for the EFCC, confirmed the arrest of the Akwa Ibom gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) during the 2019 general election.
