Elon Musk, owner of Twitter says he has hired a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the popular micro-blogging platform.
Mr Musk acquired the social networking giant last year for $44 billion and has introduced controversial policies since taking over late October.
Late last year, he created a poll seeking the opinions of Twitter users on wether to step aside or hire a replacement. Majority suggested he should vacate the position but the Tesla CEO in a follow up tweet said he will step down whenever he finds “someone foolish enough to take the job”.
On Thursday, the excited billionaire announced that his replacement, a female, will take over in six weeks time.
“Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!,” Mr Musk announced. “My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.”
