Military aircraft crashes in Abuja

A military aircraft, King Air 350, has crashed close to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Junior Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, who confirmed this in a Sunday tweet, said the aircraft was heading to Minna, the Niger State capital.

Although casualty is yet to be reported as at press time, Mr Sirika hinted that it will definitely be fatal.

“A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. It appears to be fatal,” the minister said Sunday afternoon.

“We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any,” Mr Sirika added.
