Man sentenced to wash public toilet over disrespect to court

A customary court sitting in Ile-Tuntun, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday sentenced one Jimoh Falola, to wash public toilets for 30 days for disrespecting the court.

Mr Falola whose wife, Mrs Opeyemi, filed a suit against had failed to appear before the court twice. When he finally appeared at the third sitting he accused court workers of receiving bribery to favour his estranged wife.

His unruly behavior led the president of the court, Henry Agbaje, to accuse him of disrespecting constituted authorities.

”He is ordered to embark on a 30-day community service which includes clearing the bush, sweeping the cutting, road sweeping and washing of public toilets,” the arbiter ruled.

Mr Agbaje while adjoining to March 29 for hearing, consequently ordered Mr Falola to be taken away by the police until he is ready to comport himself in a civil and orderly manner.
