Like Lagos, Kwara moves to scrap pension payment to ex-governors

The Kwara State Government has announced its intention to scrap payment of pensions to former governors of the state.

The move comes days after Lagos State Government led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the plan public.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Friday, the Kwara helmsman, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, said he will send a bill to the state house of assembly to that effect.

Since the return to democratic rule, the state has produced late Mohammed Lawal, Bukola Saraki, and Abdulfatah Ahmed as past governors.
