Lagos State has discharged 60 patients who had Coronavirus disease infection, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the state governor said.

Mr Sanwo-Olu who announced this on Twitter, Tuesday evening, said 40 of the patients discharged were male while the remaining 20 are female.

“Today, we discharged 60 #COVID19 Lagos patients; 40 males and 20 females, from our Yaba, Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki isolation facilities to reunite with their families and society,” the governor announced.

“The patients, 31 from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 19 from the Ibeju-Lekki and 10 from Eti-Osa Isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative in two consecutive readings.

“With this, the number of #COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 321,” he added.

Sanwo-Olu advised that the ease of lockdown should not be the reason for residents to rush out and eschew all safety guidelines. “We must all play our part and take responsibility,” he added.

The state has the highest number of the deadly virus since it broke out in the country in February. The state, as of the last count yesterday, currently has 1,183 confirmed cases.
