Kano official who celebrated Taliban’s takeover in Afghanistan deletes post

An official of the Kano State government which celebrated the takeover of Afghanistan by Taliban terrorists has deleted the post he made on Facebook.

On Sunday, Taliban terrorists took over Kabul, capital of the landlocked mountainous Asian country. This was after foreign troops backing the democratic administration of Ashraf Ghani pulled out from the fighting that has lasted for more than two decades.

Mr Ghani on his part fled the country on Monday when he learnt that the terrorists were approaching his country’s capital.

The ideology of the Taliban tallies with that of Boko Haram terrorist group waging war against the Nigerian State with the aim of islamizing it.

Communication and Digital Economy Minister, Isa Pantami, was almost booted out for his past controversial support for the Taliban, a global terror group, which he recently denounced.

On Monday while reacting to the development in Afghanistan, Muaz Magaji, Chairman of the Kano State Gas Pipeline Project Delivery and Gas Industrialisation Committee described the takeover of affairs by terrorists as a win-win situation.

Mr Magaji stated this through his verified Facebook profile on Monday but deleted it when TODAY POLITICS rechecked again on Tuesday.

It’s a WIN-WIN in Afghanistan today!” he wrote while quoting a news report of the incident by Daily News Hausa facebook page.

But before he could delete the exclamatory post, screenshot of it was already trending on various social media platforms.

Before his present appointment, he was the Works Commissioner of the state but was fired after he celebrated the passing away of Abba Kyari, the former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

He is now the second government official who has openly declared support for terrorists organization after Mr Pantami.
