Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged a tormentor of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to accord the Nigerian leader some respect.
Mr Jonathan who lost his re-election bid to Mr Buhari gave the advise on Monday. It was also the first time an incumbent president lost election in the country.
Reno Omokri, an aide to the former president, who described himself as the tormentor of the president was advised by his former principal to shelve his sword.
The former aide made this known through his social media accounts. POLITICS TIMES gathered that a day hard go by without Omokri lashing out at the Buhari administration.
Atimes he engages presidential aides of Buhari in heated argument and never down tools whenever he does. He initiated some trending hashtag criticizing the government of the day.
Stepping in to ensure the attack on Buhari winds down, Jonathan advised his aide to step down criticism and this has left Omokri wondering what manner of man the former Nigerian leader is.
“I just don’t know how God created @GEJonathan,” Omokri said.
“I have never met a man, whether Pastor, Imam or Pope, with as much humility as former President Jonathan.
“He called me and appealed to me to show more respect and kindness to @MBuhari. Would Buhari do that to him or Obj or IBB?” he queried.
During his days in power, Jonathan received much more criticism than his successor currently does, at a point allies of the president during their days in the opposition described the former president as being clueless, incompetent and a host of other unprintable words.
While he held sway, Jonathan was always blamed by the opposition for whatever insecurity that took place during his reign, but as President Buhari took over his aides insist the insecurity in the parts of the country should be blamed on State governors despite their principal being the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
The administration has also blamed Nigerians who brought it to power.
Others who have been blamed so far by the Buhari administration for one reason or the other includes: The People Democratic Party (PDP), Jonathan, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, the Nigerian Media, Senate President Bukola Saraki, and a host of others.
