Islamic police arrest 11 for eating during Ramadan fast

Hisbah, an Islamic police operating in parts of Northern Nigeria, arrested eleven citizens for eating while others were observing Ramadan fast in Kano State.

Those arrested comprise of three men and eight woman who were picked up for not observing the annual fast ongoing globally.

“The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Aliyu Musa Kibiya said they were investigating those who were not fasting to find out their motives,” the BBC reported.

Ramadan fast, an annual religious exercise, is mandatory for Muslim adults.
