Insecurity: Buhari, service chiefs meet Thursday

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to meet service chiefs on Thursday, the presidency announced Tuesday.

The meeting will center on insecurity, particularly on the new trend of Boko Haram terrorists who have been surrending to the Nigerian Army in recent weeks.

Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, who announced this in a statement said plans will be formulated to bring an end to the rising insecurity bedeviling the nation.

“The security forces have in the past few weeks taken the battle more robustly to insurgents, bandits, and all other criminals troubling the country, and they are now surrendering in droves,” Mr Shehu stated. “The President will be brought up to speed on developments at the Thursday meeting, while plans to bring a decisive end to the challenges will be formulated.”
