Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State has tested negative for Coronavirus disease.
Mr Uzodimma announced this in a tweet on Monday morning while the total number of cases of the pandemic disease rised to 323.
“I have tested negative to the #Coronavirusinfection,” the governor tweeted.
“The result of a test conducted on me came out this morning and confirmed that I am free of the #coronavirus.
“We will continue to do everything humanly possible to stop #COVID19 from coming into our state,” he added while urging citizens to continue to observe precautionary measures put in place to prevent the spread of the disease.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday announced the confirmation of five new cases of the disease.
The new confirmed cases are from Lagos, Kwara and Katsina states.
