How unknown gunmen raided NDA, killed two, abducted a soldier: DHQ

The Defence Headquarters has confirmed reports of unknown gunmen raiding the facility of the Nigerian Defence Academy.

In a statement by Major Bashir Jajira, the Academy Public Relations Officer, the military said the security architecture of the facility was compromised to allow the armed men access into the academy located in Afaka area of Kaduna State.

Mr Jajira explained that the gunmen raided the residential area of the facility and abducted a military personnel which, according to him, would soon be rescued.

He said two personnel were unfortunately killed during the operation which occurred early morning Tuesday.

“The Academy in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.

“The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that this unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued,” he added.
