Tinubu yet to appoint Chief of Staff – Gbajabiamila denies report

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has denied social media reports claiming he has been appointed the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

The denial came hours after an online news portal quoted Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu, an aide of the top lawmaker, as confirming the appointment to it.

But dismissing the report as fake news, Mr Wasiu said he never disseminated such information as reported as the President was yet to make an appointment for the position.

He also explained that he never posted such information on his Facebook profile as he was being quoted by users of the social networking site.

“Fake news is a monster that must be curbed,” he said Thursday morning, admonishing, “Kindly ignore any fake news quoting this account for posting about any political appointment. Nothing of such was ever posted here.”
