Ganduje’s ex-aide fired for asking Buhari to resign over insecurity leaves Nigeria after encounter with DSS

Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, a former aide to Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje, has left the country.

Mr Tanko-Yakasai, who asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign over abduction of school children, departed Nigeria Wednesday evening.

He was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) after berating the Nigerian leader. While he was being detained, Mr Ganduje relieved him of his duty, saying he ought not serve in an administration he does not believe in.

He was released days after and has announced his departure from Nigeria on Twitter, although not stating his destination.

“Japa….. Goodbye Naija! Alhamdulilah!,” he tweeted, attaching pictures of himself at the airport and the airline he is boarding.
