Umar Ganduje, Kano State governor, has appointed a new Emir in the state.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Usman Alhaji, today.
Appointed to succeed, Lamido Sanusi, who was removed earlier in the day, is Aminu Bayero.
Mr Sanusi was dethroned by the governor and has been exiled to Nassarawa State.
Mr Bayero until the appointment was the Emir of Bichi. His appointment takes effect immediately, according to Mr Alhaji.
