Fayose visits Tinubu after knee surgery, says sickness knows no party

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday visited a former governor of Lagos State Bola Tinubu to which the latter quick recovery.

Mr Tinubu who recently returned to the country was away from the country in July to undergo knee surgery in London. He returned last week and has since been receiving friends and well wishers.

In a statement Tuesday night the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain said he visited to wish the All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain quick recovery because sickness knows no political party.

“Today, I was at Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos to wish Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu a quick recovery,” Mr Fayose announced. “Health issues know no political party and in this part of the world, we seldom celebrate people when they are alive. Rather, we like to sign condolence registers. To me, that is not the best way to live.

“Most importantly, politics should be about love for each other. Therefore, like other leaders in Nigeria, I wish Asiwaju sound and robust health,” he said.

He also restated his commitment to the opposition party on whose platform he governed Ekiti state twice.

“And to those negative political analysts, this visit notwithstanding, I remain an unrepentant PDP leader and key stakeholder,” he added.
