Fani-Kayode plans return to APC: Report

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister is reportedly planning to return to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Mr Fani-Kayode, a staunch critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, had joined the ruling party after it was newly formed all in a bid to oust former president Goodluck Jonathan whom he berated severally.

He left the APC after alleged plans to pair Mr Buhari with Bola Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, as the 2015 presidential candidates of the party.

His grievance at the time was that choosing the duo who are Muslims as flag bearers of the then opposition was an insult to the sensibility of Nigerian Christians which he belongs to.

Mr Tinubu was later dropped and replaced with Yemi Osinbajo but this was after Mr Fani-Kayode left the party.

Citing close sources to the former minister, The Nation Newspaper is reporting that the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has began moves to return to the ruling party.

Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello is said to have led him to meet the chairman, Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni.

TODAY POLITICS recalls that he had last year threatened to leave the now opposition party if the Cross River state party structure is taken away from the governor, Ben Ayade, this we could not independently verify as at press time.
