Ex-presidential aide, Omokri reveals country where Nnamdi Kanu was arrested

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has revealed what he knows about the arrest and extradition of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).

Mr Kanu who fled Nigeria in 2017 was arrested and extradited back to the country on Sunday, according to Abubakar Malami, Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).

The secessionist leader was produced in court on Tuesday where he denied jumping bail with the trial judge ordering that he be remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

While the government kept mum on where he was arrested and extradited, reports say he was picked up in Czech Republic, a claim yet to be confirmed by TODAY POLITICS.

One thing is certain, he was not arrested in the London or the United Kingdom where he is also a citizen as speculated in some quarters.

Omokri, a former aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, quoting top UK government official, said the fugitive was arrested and detained in Kenya.

“I just spoke with a top UK government source,” the ex-aide said on Twitter Tuesday evening. “Nnamdi Kanu was NOT arrested or extradited by the British.

“According to this official, Kanu was “almost definitely arrested in KENYA” and “it was an illegal detention”. I won’t reveal my source, but I have him on record,” he added.
