Modupe Odele whose international passport was confiscated by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has retrieved back her travelling document.
Ms Odele, a legal practitioner, voluntarily offered her service in securing the release of some arrested peaceful protesters demanding police extensive reforms.
While on her way out of the country earlier in the month, her passport was seized at the Lagos International Airport, her exit route. National security was given by the border agency as reasons.
Days after public outcry, she was invited to come for the document last week but went for it today.
She has announced that the document is currently in her possession.
“Getting my passport back took an entire village. No way I can mention everyone one after the other but please know I’m very grateful,” she wrote on Twitter.
