President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered service chiefs to immediately end kidnapping and banditry in the country immediately.

Mr Buhari, according to presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, issued the directive in a meeting with the top security chiefs on Tuesday at the Aso Rock Villa.

Mr Ahmad in a tweet, said his principal, who is embarking on a two-week medical check-up today, also ordered that the sponsors of the criminal elements, whose activities are prevalent in the Northern part of the country, be brought to book.
