EFCC arrests Okorocha after failing to honour invitation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly picked up Rochas Okorocha, lawmaker representing Imo West at the Nigerian Senate.

Mr Okorocha, according to Premium Times, was arrested on Tuesday at his Unity House private office in Abuja.

This is coming barely two months after the police arrested him on the orders of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state.

The anti-graft agency, after a stand-off that lasted for hours, picked up the lawmaker who is said to have refused to honour its invitation, a conduct that triggered his arrest.

Wilson Uwajeren, spokesperson of the EFCC confirmed Okorocha’s arrest who is allegedly being investigated over monumental graft during his eight-year reign as governor.
