The Peoples Democratic Party PDP has maintained it lead after twelve results from local government areas in Edo State has been announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Its candidate, Godwin Obaseki, who is seeking a second term in office is leading with over 50,000 votes margin according to the electoral body.
His major opponent, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is trailing behind having won in four lgas while the governor won in eight local councils.
For the 12 Local Governments, the PDP has scored 202,574 votes while the APC has polled 154,704.
