Godwin Obaseki, the incumbent governor of Edo State, has emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr Obaseki emerged at the party primary where other aspirants stepped down for him.
He recently defected to the party after his former All Progressive Congress (APC) which he used its platform to ascend to power disqualified him from using same for his re-election.
The APC which barred him from participating in the party primary said his academic credentials were deceptive.
