DSS staff jumps into Lagos lagoon after quarrel with fiancé

Adetutu Adedokun, an unarmed combat instructor with the State Security Service (SSS) has jumped into the lagoon from the third mainland bridge in Lagos State.

Ms Adedokun, a staff of the self-styled Department of State Services (DSS) in her late thirties, reportedly alighted from an Uber taxi before jumping into the lagoon, Thursday afternoon.

The driver of the taxi said she took the decision after a heated argument with her purported fiance over the phone while in the car.

The search for her corpse continued on Friday after a futile one on Thursday evening.

“The rescue teams called off their search by 7pm because it was already dark,” the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, said. “They will continue the search tomorrow (Friday); you know it is water, the wave would have taken the body somewhere else. But we will search everywhere.”
