Disaster to befall federal lawmakers if they refuse to impeach Buhari: Mbaka

Reverend father Ejike Mbaka says disaster will befall federal lawmakers who will not impeach President Muhammadu Buhari but come to attack him for demanding the president’s resignation.

Mr Mbaka, a Catholic cleric and a former ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, stated this while addressing his ministry’s faithfuls in a recent video clip circulating on social media.

When Mr Buhari sought the exalted office during the 2015 general election, the cleric said he was going to defeat then incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan because the Almighty God said so. He reiterated this position in 2019 when the Nigerian leader sought another term of four years which will wind down in 2023.

The video clip recorded by his ministry’s media, Adoration TV, showed Mbaka criticising the president over worsening state of insecurity bedeviling the nation.

He said the silence of Buhari while killings, kidnappings, among others that are now rife indicates the president lacks the skill to tackle insecurity hence he should resign or be impeached.

“How can people be dying and the chief security officer, custodian of lives and properties in the country will b sitting down not making any comment,” Mbaka queried, charging federal lawmakers to impeach Buhari should he refuse to resign.

“If the members of these two houses (Senate & Reps) do not want to impeach him and they want to begin to fight Father Mbaka, something worst than they never imagined will happen to the members of the house of Senate and members of the house of Representatives,” he added.

Reiterating that disaster is coming if the government fails to listen to the youths, he said a time will come people will run away from elective position if called upon.
