COVID-19: Yobe records new case as Nigeria confirms 196 fresh infections

Yobe State, yesterday, recorded its first Coronavirus disease case, bringing the number of affected states to 35, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Out of the 36 states of the Federation, only Cross River State has not recorded any case of the deadly virus which broke out in the country late February.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Wednesday night, announced the confirmation of 196 fresh cases with that of Yobe inclusive.

The new figure brings the total number of cases to 1728 out of which 307 have recovered while the nationwide death toll increased to 51.

The 196 new cases are reported from twelve states- Lagos (87), Kano (24), Gombe (18), Kaduna (17), FCT (16), Katsina (10), Sokoto (8), Edo (7), Borno (6), Ebonyi (1), Yobe (1), Adamawa(1).
