COVID-19: Nigeria records 340 new infections

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday announced the confirmation of 340 new cases of Coronavirus disease infections in the country.

In its daily data published yesterday night, the agency said 316 patients recovered from the deadly virus while 4 fatalities were recorded nationwide in the past 24 hours.

The new figure brings the total number of confirmed cases to 51,304, out of which 37,885 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 996 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 340 new cases are reported from 19 states- Kaduna(63), FCT(51), Plateau(38), Lagos(33), Delta(25), Gombe (21), Adamawa(21), Edo(20), Katsina(17), Akwa Ibom(11), Ekiti(10), Rivers(9), Ondo(5), Ebonyi(4), Cross River(3), Ogun(3), Sokoto(2), Imo(2) and Nasarawa (2).
