COVID-19: Nigeria records 221 new cases

Two hundred and twenty one new cases of the Coronavirus disease infections have been announced in the country by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday.

Also, in the latest daily data released yesterday night, 317 patients recovered from the deadly virus while 3 fatalities occurred nationwide in the past 24 hours.

The new figure brings the total number of confirmed cases to 53,021, out of which 40,281 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 1010 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 221 new cases are reported from 20 states- Plateau (60), FCT (33), Kaduna (26), Rivers (18), Lagos (17), Enugu (9), Kwara (9), Ondo (9), Nasarawa (6), Gombe (5), Anambra (5), Delta (4), Abia (4), Imo (3), Edo (2), Ogun (2), Oyo (2), Osun (2), Bauchi (1) and Kano (1).
