COVID-19: Nigeria records 138 new infections

One hundred and thirty eight new Coronavirus disease infections have been announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday.

In the daily update released by the disease agency yesterday night, 199 patients recovered from the pandemic disease while 2 fatalities were recorded nationwide in the past 24 hours.

The new figure brings the total number of confirmed cases to 53,865, out of which 41,513 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 1,013 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 138 new cases are reported from 14 states- Plateau (55), Lagos (15), Ebonyi (11), Oyo (11), Abia (8), Anambra (7), FCT (7), Rivers (7), Kaduna (6), Ondo (5), Kwara (3), Bauchi (1), Benue (1) and Edo (1).
